Brainstorms and
 big tables

But big groups aren't usually a good way of creating new ideas. Good for criticism and refinement and comment, but not for the initial creation. There is always at least one person there who is an idiot, or who is in a bad mood and just wants to trample ideas that day. But even if there wasn't, the numbers are too big. The exception to this is if the group is very tightly moderated, so that the group works in a more nimble way.
